About Us

At MCE we offer practical, diverse structural solutions to serve our clients' needs now and well into the future. Our staff members have specialized training and experience in a wide array of structural engineering solutions and materials and use it to provide the technical expertise necessary to successfully execute well over a thousand projects every year.
 
When Ray Miller founded MCE in 1978, the world of structural engineering was very different than it is today. The tools of the trade were limited to drafting tables, slide rules, and simple calculators. These tools have largely been replaced by computer aided drafting, building information modeling, and structural analysis software, but experience and engineering judgement remain the most important factor in our designs. For almost 45 years, engineers at MCE have been refining our understanding of building performance, allowing us to provide efficient, effective designs even as code requirements have become much more stringent.

Currently Hiring:

Associate Structural Engineer I (3+ years experience and license)

As an Associate Structural Engineer I you will:
  • Perform calculations, develop loading requirements, & create accurate & concise drawings
  • Communicate effectively & professionally with senior engineers & clients regarding status of new & ongoing projects
  • Pay attention to client expectations & scope adjustments, work closely with senior engineers
  • Perform research & conduct field investigations
 
Qualifications/Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • PE license & 3+ years of experience is required
  • Preferred to have personal vehicle & the minimum required Oregon insurance for site visits
  • Ability to generate creative solutions within existing limitations
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities
  • Contributes to positive team spirit
